It is symbolized by $, CA$, Can$ and C$, with banknotes issued in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100, and coins in denominations of 1c, 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, $1 and $2. Considered a commodity currency due to Canada's natural resources, CAD is the fifth most-held reserve currency globally and ranks sixth in terms of trading volume.
